The central control point in the programme is the dialogue ‘MET- NFPA hazard diamond’:  Further programme sections of the MET, data or ERI cards are accessed from this dialogue onwards. What is important for simplifying your guidance as a user: you are always led to this dialogue after selecting a substance. You can pinpoint the main hazards of a selected substance at a glance at the hazard diamond.

 

In the yellow area right at the top, you will see the name of the selected substance once again for your checking purposes.

 

At the centre of the dialogue you will see the hazard diamond relating to the substance as is specified by the NFPA Standard System 704. The hazard diamond provides information at a glance about the main hazards relating to a substance, whereby the hazards have been divided up into flammability hazard (red), health hazard (blue) and reactivity hazard (yellow) and special notice area (white). Clicking on the underlined writing gives one additional information about the meaning of the number in the appropriate area relating to the main hazard.

 

The optional boxes underneath the hazard diamond have been clearly placed there so that one can easily branch out from there to the various parts of the programme 'MET',  'Data' or 'ERI card'.

Certain substances have not been NFPA classified (e.g. mixtures) or they are not available in the data bank. In this case, the programme displays the orange hazard table as a substitute. (The MET® for the PocketPC Freeware Version only displays the hazard diamond in the case of UN-Nr 1040; the programme displays the orange hazard table for all other substances).
